THE RED CHORD Is A Last-Minute Addition To NEW ENGLAND METAL AND HARDCORE FESTIVAL

April 22, 2010

Forced to miss their European tour with ROTTEN SOUND and ABORTED due to the effects of the recent volcano in Iceland, Boston, Massachusetts grind metallers THE RED CHORD have lined up an amazing weekend's worth of shows for fans on the East Coast.

On Saturday, April 24, THE RED CHORD will play the main stage at the New England Metal And Hardcore Festival in Worcester, Massachusetts alongside CANNIBAL CORPSE, AMON AMARTH, and JOB FOR A COWBOY. This last-minute appearance is a homecoming of sorts for THE RED CHORD, which hails from nearby Boston and which has played the now-legendary event five times, starting in 2003.

On Sunday, April 25, THE RED CHORD heads to Brooklyn, New York to headline a show at Public Assembly with PREMONITIONS OF WAR and TIGER FLOWERS. This is an ultra-rare opportunity for fans to witness THE RED CHORD at a tiny venue.

The alliance between THE RED CHORD and PREMONITIONS OF WAR dates back to 2003 when the two bands teamed up on a self-booked U.S. tour (along with none other than BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME!). THE RED CHORD frontman Guy Kozowyk went on to release a PREMONITIONS OF WAR CD, "Glorified Dirt + The True Face of Panic", on his label, Black Market Activities.

Regarding THE RED CHORD's ill-fated European tour, Kozowyk said in a statement, "We did everything we could to make it to this European tour with ROTTEN SOUND and ABORTED. Unfortunately, our best efforts couldn't get THE RED CHORD or THOSE WHO LIE BENEATH onto the continent until it was far too late. The remainder of the tour is uncertain, but if ROTTEN SOUND and ABORTED continue with the rest of it, we strongly advise and appreciate your support of the remaining shows.

"We will do our best to make up shows before the end of the year and we thank the bands, agents and fans for their patience and understanding during this ridiculous situation."

"Demoralizer", the latest video from THE RED CHORD, can be viewed below (courtesy of Bloody-Disgusting.com). The clip was shot on Guy Kozowyk's property in abandoned ceramics factory on Halloween and showcases some pretty gruesome illustrations by artist Tim Kellen, which were animated and brought to life by director Dave Brodsky of MyGoodEye. The artist used charcoal, meat, grape jelly, and chicken guts in his illustrations, giving the "Demoralizer" video a truly bizarre appearance.

THE RED CHORD was recently rejoined by original drummer Michael Justian, who had not publicly performed with the group since the Maryland Deathfest of 2004.

Justian left THE RED CHORD at the end of 2003, joined UNEARTH in 2004 and also spent time filling in for TRAP THEM, EARTH CRISIS, SHAI HULUD and 108 in the interim.

The first show with the adjusted lineup took place on February 10 at the Hideaway in Johnson City, Tennessee before the band met up with MY CHILDREN MY BRIDE, CHELSEA GRIN and THOSE WHO LIE BENEATH on the "Burgers and Bowling Tour".

"Fed Through the Teeth Machine", the fourth full-length album from THE RED CHORD, sold around 2,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 180 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at position No. 6 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Fed Through the Teeth Machine" was released on October 27, 2009 in the U.S. via Metal Blade Records. The CD was recorded at Jonny Fay Backyard Studios, which is owned by the band's former guitarist Jonny Fay, and it was mixed and mastered by Chris "Zeuss" Harris, who has previously worked with HATEBREED and SHADOWS ALL, among others.

THE RED CHORD is:

Guy Kozowyk - Vocals
Mike "Gunface" McKenzie - Guitar
Greg Weeks - Bass
Michael Justian - Drums
